## What it is

- A native iPhone app (iOS 17.0 or later), free on the App Store as
  "Bookmarker: Save Links & Reels":

- Plus a web app at https://bookmarker.lol/ that runs in any modern browser
  once you have signed in. There is no Android app and no browser extension.

## What it does

- Save any link from any iPhone app through the iOS share sheet, by pasting a
  link, or by importing a file.
- Files every save into one of 50 topics and 612 subtopics automatically, in
  two passes. First a keyword score over the link and the title or caption,
  which runs on the device, instantly and offline, and settles most links.
  Then, only for the links that pass leaves unfiled or places on thin
  evidence, and only when you are signed in, the link, title or caption,
  account, hashtags and your tags are sent to bookmarker's own server, which
  asks a language model; low-confidence answers are discarded. Signed out or
  offline, the keyword answer is the only answer. Either way the topic is a
  suggestion you can override, and saving is never blocked by filing. You can
  add your own subtopics.
- Browse by topic or by the app a save came from; each axis filters the other.
- Search the title, the account that posted it, your tags, your notes, the
  topic and subtopic, the source app, the link, and whatever post text came
  with the save — the description a page published, or the full post body when
  the save arrived in an X data export. Searches can be narrowed to topics,
  subtopics or tags.
- Dated notes on any save, and a count of how often you have reopened it.
- Import browser bookmarks and the data exports from X, Instagram, TikTok and
  YouTube.
- Turn a set of saves into a public page at bookmarker.lol/c/<slug> with an
  expiry of never, one day or ten days, switchable off at any time.
- Library Island (https://bookmarker.lol/palace/) renders a library as a 3D
  island, one zone per topic.

## What it deliberately does not do

- It stores links, not copies. Opening a save sends you to the original post.
  If the original is deleted, the link dies with it — bookmarker is not an
  archive.
- It never fetches the page behind the link, so search does not cover the
  body of an article, a PDF or a video transcript. It searches only the text
  it holds. There is no quoted-phrase or operator syntax in search.
- Thumbnails and titles only arrive where the platform publishes them. YouTube
  and most ordinary web pages do; Instagram, TikTok and X usually do not
  publish metadata to unauthenticated requests, so those saves often have a
  plain title and no image.
- No Android app, no browser extension, no desktop app.

## Price

Free. The first 20 saves need no account; past 20, signing up is also free (an
email address and a six-digit code) and makes the library unlimited, backed up
and readable on the web. There is no paid tier in the app and nothing in it
costs money. A one-time founding-member price of $30 is being reserved at
https://bookmarker.lol/lifetime for a future paid version; payments are not
switched on and no card is taken.

## Privacy

The iPhone app asks for zero permissions and ships with no ad or analytics
SDKs; the library lives on the device and works offline. The website uses
PostHog for product analytics with inputs masked, which the privacy policy
discloses. Saves are private unless you deliberately share a collection.
